Our Prayers Go Out To You, Haiti!

I have this picture hanging in my home, it is my most favorite!

Oh isn't it so sad what has happened in Haiti. I cannot even listen or watch anything on the news about it without hysterically bawling, seriously. I think my time in Ghana, Africa has brought me closer to the people and their situation, in those 3rd world countries. I wanted to share a quick sweet story about a lady that is very close to our family. She is in Haiti right now, so I don't have her permission to put her name on my blog, though I don't think she'd mind, I want to respect her privacy. She works with an adoption agency here in Utah that bring little Haitian orphans to new families. She left last week to go to the center of it all. On Sunday we heard she sent a text to Brody's Aunt that said she was okay, and that she slept outside in the dirt, with all of the little Haitian orphans around her. I just pictured it in my mind and thought what a beautiful experience, but also how terrifying. (Orphanages are a target for bad people looking for food and water, they believe that ophanages are the first place the government helps.) On Sunday she was walking to the LDS Church and as they got closer they could hear the Latter Day Saints singing..."I Know That My Redeemer Lives". Wow, what faith and conviction! We are praying for you Haiti and I really am praying for a little Haitian to come and live with us soon! To learn more about my belief as a Latter Day Saint go HERE.

I love that story. I too want to take one in my home. I've been talking to Trent about it since it happened, maybe someday.
Too funny, I also just posted about haiti.

Amy that is awesome. Our neighbors just brought a little girl back from there that they have been trying to adopt for 2 years and so the dad went over last week and got her. They arrived home on Saturday night. It is so sad what has happened and as you said I am waiting for one day for one of them to come live with us too.

Is she affiliated with Haitian Roots?
Please let me know if you find out how to get the ball rolling to take one of those kids in.
