I need your notes...

I AM DESPERATE FOR YOUR HELP!!! PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR INPUT NO MATTER IF YOU KNOW ME OR NOT!!!
Well, Of course I am having the c/section on July 30th. Yeah! But at the same time this could not be a more horrible day for our family! Brody got a new job a few months ago. With that we start our new insurance on Aug 1st. Of course this would happen. Two days on one insurance and two days on the new insurance plan. This means two deductibles per the baby and me. That is four deductibles. If we do not enroll by Aug 25th with the new insurance we will not be elligible for another year... I am so stressed out, and it takes a lot to get me stressed! We are talking like $4000. After we have already paid up the butt! I thought the logical thing to do was to ask my doctor to move the c/section back two days. He is such a nice guy i thought for sure he'd do it, but NO! He said he is not available that day and he won't induce before 39wks gestation unless theres a medical reason. It is for his personal reasons. I was devistated when he said no. I truely thought he'd do it for us! What is two days when the baby is already 8lbs at this point?! How come I can't pick a good OB??? So, set in his ways, he can't see that this is a huge burden on our family! I even talked to Ogden Regional Med Ctr and they said it would be fine to do the c/section Fri, Sat, Sun, or Mon. We are just not in the position to pay $4000 give or take right now. I mean who is??? I feel so guilty worrying about money when it comes to my children, I always put their needs first, but this would make it hard for me to put their needs first. Food, water, A/C, gas??? My baby Bing was up all night with the flu. He was throwing up and throwing down he has a fever, and is just not himself. I feel like I should be taking care of him rather than spending my time on the phone with the dr, hospital, and insurance companies, but at least he is sleeping right now. Please give me your ideas to induce my own labor, I am desperate... I know i should just be enjoying relaxing and resting but I can't so might as well have a baby and save a buck! I heard a great idea from the insurance , she was so nice, she told me to try jasmine sent... I am willing try most anything! (As long as it is safe...) Dr. Seale look at what you are making me do...

Oh, I am so sorry! That really sucks. The one that worked for me both times, is the old fashion "The way he came in" if you know what I mean. Also, with Amelia, I walked around Costco for literally 2 hours. I was SO tired and sore, but when we got home, I was in labor. I don't know what else to tell you. I hope it happens soon!

I know this is the LAST thing you probably want to think about, but what about moving your c-section to the 1st? You won't be overdue so there isn't anything to worry about there and since you're have a c-section size wouldn't be that big of an issue (big babies are SO cute anyways! :) ) I would totally take 2 more uncomfortable days over paying more money in the long run...as long as it is safe for you and baby. ALso I've never had an OB or known one that will induce before 39 weeks unless emergency. I asked one OB and he said it's Utah law....not sure if it really is, but usually they won't do it unless it's mandatory. What a pain to have to go through this so soon. Unless you're major dialated or having complications, maybe having him come in August would be something to look at- don't kill me! :) I know you want him here....just my advice (and I'm one of those crazy people who LOVE pregnancy so of course that's my thoughts)

I really was shocked that Dr. Seale said no. He is being weird lately. So sorry and sorry that bing is sick> you know me I've taken castor oil twice, once it worked and once it didn't. I think it all depends on if you are ready. I still have some so you can try it.

Aim, all you really CAN do is relax. I know it sounds impossible, but that really is the best thing for the baby. Sometimes when you are too stressed out the baby can feel it, too. And I really do think it's a law that you can't induce(?) until you are 39 weeks unless there is a medical problem. Just be grateful that Dr. Seale is thinking about the well-being of the baby and not trying to rush him here until he's ready. But maybe you could wait until August 1st? If you don't come on your own earlier, that might be the best idea. But really, try not to worry too much. Just take care of your little Bingham and take it easy! I know it will all work out how it is supposed to.

I don't know or have any advice how to induce you, but For the stress side. I KNOW if you pray about it, it will eliminate your stress. He knows the big picture. Keep a prayer in your heart that it will work out no matter what happens, emotionally, physically and moneywise...Naturally your baby may be bigger, but maybe he needs a couple more days with his Heavenly Father!

I wish you luck and Lots of stressless love from Alaska.....

So, the whole thing is the new insurance has the deductible I'd have to meet even if I wait until the 1st. We had talked about that and I've had so many hospital visits I've met the deductibles, the new insurance girl said my best bet would be to have the dr move up 2 days. I would do anything at this point I feel like it just doesn't matter. I am most likely gonna have the baby before then either way so what can ya do? And it is not a law. Dr. like to say that, but the hospital told me that with a second baby it is not! They just can't before 38wks!

Amy,it will all work out! If you happen to go till then, it will suck to pay the extra money, but the little guy will be worth every penny!

Oh, Amy, I'm so sorry!! That stinks to have to worry about that when there's already plenty to worry about having a babe. I hope for your sake that he comes soon! It sounds like you've had quite the adventure already! No, good tips from me! I was induced with both of mine within my last week! (Because there was noway I was waiting till possibly going over!!) So I'm no help in that department! Best wishes!! Hopefully everything works out for the best!!

I'm so sorry this is happening to you!! I HATE insurance -- they're all stupid! But I promise Dr.Seale isn't doing this just to screw you over -- it really is better to wait til you're 39 weeks -- I've had quite a few patients that have "self-induced" themselves, like you're trying to do, before 39 weeks, and when the baby is born, they really are only about 34-35 weeks, and the baby has a hard time! And even if they're estimating that he's big, their measurements can be wrong, or he could be big for other reasons -- weight does not equal maturity!!! They have 10-pounders in the NICU sometimes! The little guy will come when he's supposed to! It's best for the baby, and isn't that what's important?!

Ames,
I'm so sorry! That is really stressful! I think everything will work out! It just has to, no matter what, even if things don't go how you'd like them to, they always somehow work out in the end, even if it's hard for a while. I know they really can't induce before 39 wks. unless medically warranted, not just on first babies! trust me my 2nd is due Dec. 27th & they won't induce earlier than Dec.20th. Anyhoo it's not just Utah law either, when I was induced in Alabama with Sotera they wouldn't do it before 39wks. either!! Also my friend who is type 2 diabetic has to be induced 2 1/2 wks early, but before they do that they have to do amniocentesis to make sure lungs are developed enough, so even that early can be scary! Sorry one thing I tried that didn't work is drinkin lots & lots of Raspberry Mint Tea & walking alot. It just made me really uncomfortable & in early labor but not close enough contractions! But you could try it! Here's for hoping!! I am rooting for you, you know I wanted you to have that little guy on my birthday yesterday!!:) Love you! -Krissie :)
