Breast Feeding!

Breast feeding---smesh feeding I don't like breast feeding!

That is all I do any more and my boobies are sore! It will be a miracle if I make it one more week! It is not easier than bottle feeding or more convenient! I have to take care of my Bingham too! If it doesn't get easier soon, I'm soooo done! Bingham is very smart, he is already reading some things and he know all of his letters, counts to twelve, etc... So, I'm not worried about the smart thing. Bingham is also very healthy and what not so poo to that! I am a goer and since breast feeding I can't go anywhere or do anything! I lost my milk with Bingham very early on so it wasn't my fault last time, but this time if I lose it I won't feel too bad! It isn't much cheaper either, because I had to buy nursing bras, I go through like 10 breast pads a day, I have to eat tons, and I had to buy lanolin, and a few more things! I love my boys so much and breast feeding does not make me feel any closer to Boen than it did to bottle feed Bingham!
The one good thing is I am almost back to my prepregnancy weight 4lbs to go! Which is almost all the motivation I need! I fit in all of my preprego clothes!!! Too bad I still have to lose 13lbs from the last pregnancy. Maybe this will get me back in my wedding dress!!!

AMEN!! :o) I hated everything about it! Poor Parker, He got a whole week (not even exclusively) then it was strait to bottles!! I will never forget the night Dave stood there holding Parker (crying) looking at my mom for help because I would not feed him! Then he finnaly said "Do you want me to feed him a bottle?" That was the end of it!! I wasn't even going to try with Gracie because I already knew I hated it! Then the day we had her. . . guilty mom feelings started kicking in. . ."okay I'll try". Litterally painless, still hated it!! She got 3 months. I couldn't agree with you more!! I don't feel the bonding others feel. Anyway sorry for the rant! But I agree!! :o)
P.S. They're both so dang CUTE!! :o)

Aim-don't be frustrated. It is sooo hard. Really, Boen will be just fine with a bottle. He knows you love him more than anything, I'm sure he won't care. You may as well do what will make you both happy and enjoy this time. Don't feel guilty about it. I swear being a Mom is like 95% feeling guilty. You are such a good mom and I'm proud of you for doing it this long, especially after having a c-section.

Oh Amy I know how hard breast feeding is, and I felt so guilty at first for quiting so early with Forde and trust me I hate buying formula but it made all the difference with me and how I felt it made things so much less stressful... especially when you have other kids its hard. So really dont even feel bad if you have to stop its not for everyone!!! hope all is going well.

Amy I totally know what you mean. I did't like breastfeeding either, but everyone makes such a big deal about it that I felt guilty about quiting. Then I just did what worked best for me and that was both. When I am at home, or in the middle of the night I breastfeed, but if I am out and about or not really in the mood, I give her a bottle. I just think you need to do what ever makes you happy, and is easiest for you. That is what is best for your kids!

That's one good thing about nursing - the baby eats up so many calories! I gained a few pounds after I stopped nursing. It sucked! So I had to start working out more, dang it. Good luck w/ the nursing thing!

I Hated it w/Van, but didn't mind it too bad with Soph. BUT you do what works best for you and your family. I took on SO much guilt either way and now that I look back on it I wish I would've just done what I wanted to do. Boen will be a healthy little stud either way! It's up to you and only you. :) So do what makes you happy! It is a nice pound shedder though! :)

Well I can't say that I had a bad experience with BF. I actually loved it and am sad that I need to ween him now. But not everybody has that experience. So you do what's best for you and Boen and Bingham. But hang in there!

What's with everyone bashing breastfeeding?! I PROMISE you it is the absolute best thing you can do for Boen! If you're not able to, it's perfectly fine to bottle feed, but if you can, you should definately stick with the breastfeeding!! The first 6 weeks or so are very hard, but then after that it is SO wonderful! Grayson eats in less than 5 minutes, and it's always ready when he is -- no screaming child while I get a bottle ready! So it IS more convenient! And it's not the fact that babies who are formula fed AREN'T healthy or smart, it's that breastfed babies get MORE nutrients and antibodies, and therefore get a better start! Sorry, I'm being the nursing-nazi for a minute -- but I really do feel strongly about it! As a mom AND as a nurse/lactation specialist!! If you're struggling with something in particular, give me a call -- I can help and/or be your support!! :) But you do what's best for you, of course! Even breastfeeding for the first 2 weeks is better than nothing!! :)

It has taken me 4 tries to get comfortable with it. I know it is so so hard... AND painful. I am just now okay with it(4 kids and) 4 1/2 months later. So don't let other moms guilt you into doing something that doesn't work for you. ( I know how that feels).
By-the-way, I am totally with you on the whole "mom on the go". Breast feeding is NOT better. I would much rather take a bottle than worry about something to cover up with and a good place to nurse!!! It is a hassle even more so when out in public!! Good Luck.
Hope you are recovering from your C-section and you are feeling great!

I have felt both ways. With Ian, I would only breastfeed in private and anytime I was out or even with extended family, I would use a bottle. Not just because I didn't like nursing in public, but because for me, a bottle was more convenient when I was out. But nursing was always more convenient at home. So, Ian had half and half, and I don't think he lacks in the brain department. Amelia would NOT take a bottle, so I had no choice but to nurse her until she would take a sippy cup (around 10 months). But Samantha was right in saying that formula fed babies aren't going to be dumber than nursed babies. Nursed babies will just have MORE nutrients. Just do what makes you feel the best because since you are a mother of 2 now, you need to feel your best!

I'm sorry! I hated breast feeding the first couple of weeks! Especially I was so full of fluids from my IV's that my milk didn't come in for a whole week, talk about pain! The pain of breastfeeding was way worse than giving birth for me!! But I didn't love it or hate it after the 2nd week, so I only breastfed for 6 1/2 weeks..It wasn't very convenient for me either! we were moving ourselves across country when Sotera was 8 weeks old. from Alabama to UTah in our big yellow penske truck & trailer & I refused to be hangin my boob over the carseat in the middle of rush hour traffic thank you very much! LOL! So I say your just done when your done! & don't feel one bit bad about it! I support you no matter what you decide! P.S. cute pics.
