Healthy Weight Week


Well, this week is Healthy Weight Week. I just wanted to share some of my thought about this! I just finished the first two weeks of the south Beach Diet, otherwise known as Phase 1. Well, during the first week I was really motivated, I lost about 5lbs and really thought, "Hey, this is gonna work for me." Well, then came week 2. I continued as I should! I didn't cheat at all! In fact, one time I got a little bit of yogurt on my hand and went to lick it, and stopped myself it scared me, I thought I was crazy, but it was cool how motivated I was! Well, to make a long story short, I haven't lost another pound! How is it that my parents and my sister can do the same diet and lose 8-10lbs. in phase 1. It made me feel really bad. And well, now I am angry. I am working out really hard as well as this dieting. I just want to lose 15lbs, yes 15 and I would be back to my happy weight, where I was when I got pregnant with Bingham! I am going to continue eating healthy, maybe not so much meat and eggs though. I got my cholesterol measured on Saturday and it was almost 200! That is still in the good range, but not good for me! Maybe it was all the eggs! Anyhoo, I am going to try the Best Life Diet from Oprah's guy, Bob Greene. It is really similar to the South Beach Diet, but it has less eggs and meats. I am going to continue going to the gym daily because I really enjoy that! It makes me happy and it is fun for the kids to go and play in the nursery! Well, wish me luck!!! Here is a second start at a Healthy Weight!!! How are you celebrating Healthy Weight Week???

Hang in there girl. I think 5 lbs is great. I say stick with it. You did the hard part, now like you said just add the other healthy foods and it will work. Whats funny is I lost most of my weight the first week too. So maybe this week we'll both lose more. I think you did great. How else would you have lost 5 lbs in two weeks. Oh and I think I talked Trent into joining the gym, hehe. Hang in there, you'll get there and look so good and make me jealous.

Good luck! Losing weight is such a pain. That's awesome that you are going to the gym everyday. I go, too. It's just part of my routine and it's weird when I don't go now. Obviously right now I can't really be losing weight, so I have no plans for Healthy Weight Week! But after I have the baby, I'll be all ready to lose!

as Sarah would say - YOU ROCK !!! remember you are still reestablishing your metabolism so will take a bit longer cuz that baby is still pretty little and you are still adjusting - - you are also probably building muscle w/ all your exercise - so you are doing awesome for 5# that fast ! You'll make it - don't weigh for awhile - that is always sarah's suggestion - - GOOD LUCK !

Amy you are awesome, there is no way I could stick to that diet. I really don't think you should worry about it though, you look great! I know you don't feel like it, but you do! You really shouldnt worry yourself about it. It has taken me a lot longer this time than it did with Gracie to lose the weight, Austyn is almost a year old and I am just barely dropping a few of my baby weight pounds. It is enough to worry about a new baby and getting enough sleep let alone losing weight. I am trying to talk Erik into a gym membership then we can go together! I'm starting south beach..you and april inspired me! That's awesome you lost 5 lbs though! I don't own a scale, so I'll have to just judge by how my pants fit :).

Hang in there! Just keep eating healthy and working out. I saw Brody at the gym the other day but not you. I must have missed you! By the way, 5 lbs. in one week is awesome! Don't be so hard on yourself.

I am enjoying it. I am eating everything I see. Yes I have one or more shakes a day. They aren't healthy shakes either. I will need this diet big time when the baby comes

Hey, I'm trying to lose 15 pounds too!! Lets stick togther. I've lost 5 and have 10 more to go!! I'm not as motivated as you. I just try to eat better, not as much, and I try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week. Maybe I should try one of these diets. I know that my boyfriend would have no problem eating meat and eggs. Keep me updated and we'll be healthy together!! Yeah!

I think I'm going to eat lunch now. I'm so impressed you're sticking with the diet. I haven't stuck to a diet since high school! Maybe I should learn something from this... Haha. It's been easier these last few years to maintain my weight when I'm just not thinking about it. And, by eating my daily power breakfast that keeps me full all day long: 1/2 oatmeal with a banana and yogurt, and 3 scrambled egg whites.
