Crazy Busy!

Well this has been one of the craziest weeks of my life! My baby Boen was diagnosed with asthma. I know it seems like its not a big deal, but it is the more I read about it the more I have found out that it is a scary disease! I am way busy giving him 3+ breathing treatments a day that take around 15min each. He has had a cold so it made the asthma really bad. He has a medication that he has to take orally each night as well. between the two medications we will be spending around $250 per month. That is with really good insurance. The cold is gone, but he is still wheezing a bit. So, much fun! He is the sweetest little thing and I love him so much and hate to see my baby in distress! He hates the treatments, but he hopefully will get used to them. He weighs 21lbs now by the way! My little chubba!
Next, we sold our house. I have been going crazy with my two boys and their illnesses trying to keep the house clean, getting papers signed emailed or faxed, deciding on which house we are buying and getting loans approved, inspections done, etc etc etc... I will post pictures of our new house soon. If you are wondering it is a cape cod style home. It is perfect for our family! I am so excited. It looks like the house from the Dick and Jane books.
And now today I had to take Boen to the Dr. to get his follow-up at our pediatricians office. Anyway things are going as they should with him, but we did get some bad news....... On Bingham! The entire first year of his life, every time I went to the pediatrician I got some bad news, not kidding. Horner Syndrome, Klempke Palsy, Serious Heart Murmur, Missing Left Carotid Artery. We had MRI's, CAT Scans, CT scans, Blood work, etc etc etc... Well, I must say we have the BEST pediatrician, Charlene Clawson. She is the smartest doctor around, all of her staff and fellow doctors in the area feel the same. We were just getting ready to leave after she gave me some booklets for Boen's condition, when Bingham asked her for a sucker she looked at him for a second and she asked me if I ever noticed Bingham's eyes crossing. I hadn't really, and if I ever had, I guess I passed it off as his horner syndrome. (different shaped pupils and colored eyes can make you see things that aren't really there, that's at least what I thought!) Well, she did a few quick tests and we are now going to our Pediatric Opthamologist down at Primary Children's for some evaluations. Bingham's eyes do not move together as they should, he also has a slight crossing of them once in a while. Not something most people would notice. I am so grateful to Dr. Clawson because if we missed this for much longer it could lead to blindness. It was hard for me to hear this new news, but I am grateful she caught it. Now we aren't sure what it is for certain, but hopefully we can get a hold of it quick. We aren't sure even what caused this, but it could have happened during the rough labor as well. So we shall see. I just feel so badly for Bingham, he has been through so much, I thought we were finally in the clear. {sigh} I love him so much!
So as soon as I find some free time I will go through my pictures from our trip to St. George and also from Sea World, so I can share the best ones with you all!

I'm sorry to hear about both your boys! It's hard to be a Mom with sick kids... but they're both adorable!

Not fun, not fun. Asthma with kids is not fun. Emily has asthma and is allergic to dogs. If she gets a cold she sounds like an RSV kid. It isn't fun. That is too bad that Boen has to deal with all that.

Great catch on Dr. Clawsons part. Hopefully it turns out to be something super minor or nothing at all. Poor Bing!

That is nice that you guys have sold your house. Is your new one in the same area? Hope that things will start going a little better for you guys.

Oh my goodness, you guys really have been going through a lot lately. I'm so sorry to hear about your boys. It's so hard to see your kids go through things like that, you feel so helpless, but isn't it so wonderful that we live in a day where these things can be fixed or treated. I hope everything goes well with Binghams appointment at PCMC.
I'm so happy for you that you sold your house. So did you end up listing it with a realtor? I'm looking forward to seeing your new place? Sounds awesome!!

Poor Boen! Emmy has asthma, too. We have an inhaler for her. But it gets a lot worse when she gets a cold, that's for sure.

And poor Bingham! That is really scary! You are so lucky your dr. caught it early on. Good luck, poor guy!

I love those boys so much. I am so sorry that he still has to go through more stuff. I hope he will be ok, won't he be so cute with glasses/ Maybe thats why he likes mine so much, he wants some. You'll have to tell me what it is so I can talk with Natalie Trents sister remember Robbie has a similar thing and he's had a few surgeries and wears glasses.

I feel so bad for you guys, i can't believe those 2. Poor boys, Charlene is so good, i'm glad she caught that, hopefully when you go to primary's everything will be ok. and Poor Boen, he is so sweet, so sad to see him having his treatments, hopefully he'll get used to it.

i'm so sorry! you guys have really had it rough! but you are always so optimistic! you are such a great mom! Sotera has allergy induced asthma so from her first birthday to her second birthday it was at its worst, we were always in the ER and being sent home with a nebulizer! So I feel your pain. I'm really sorry, it is really scary sometimes! Sorry about that cutie patootie Bingham. What a stud to endure so much and still be such a good boy! Hang in there I'm sure things will look up soon!

I'm sorry for all of your bad news. It is so scary not knowing. And I hope you find your dog, that is just terrible.

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry about all the health issues. My boys both struggle with Reactive Airway Disease (it's like asthma but sounds nicer for insurance reasons). We have to do breathing treatments year round just to keep Cole out of the hospital. Hopefully it'll get better as they get older. Good Luck!
