Here is the newest addition to our little family! Still, I am out numbered! Yes, you guessed it another boy. He is so sweet and way worth it! Neeku is an Alaskan Husky. Which is by definition a "sled dog." Because Neeku is a "wooly" coat, as they say, he is not able to be an actual racing dog. He can pull sleds just fine, but because his coat is long, the snow balls up in his fur which makes him slower than the rest. An Alaskan Husky is mostly bred in Alaska. When they made this breed they were bred from a Siberian Husky (which is bred from a wolfe) and a Greenland dog. It was so much fun to learn about his history. He is a pure Alaskan Husky, so we are going to stud him out a few times. With that maybe we can get another pup! A wooly coat is very rare and not nt in this breed so chances are slim he could pass that trait on. His parents are beautiful, neither of which are wooly coats. Canada will not allow the U.S. to register this dog, but people still pay top dollar for these dogs. Sled dogs are natural born working dogs, they love to pull sleds, are extremely smart and they are great family dogs! He will get pretty large, and muscular. One fun thing about Neeku is that he has two different colored eyes, one light blue and one green. Just like Bingham! We chose the name Neeku because it is an Eskimo name meaning iceburg or ice or something like that! Check out these cute pics!!!
Here is the newest addition to our home, Neeku!
