kitchen pics

So here is my kitchen, it is a little messy, but that is common at our home. It started real plain, without an island, I designed it and Brody built it. I painted and picked out the granite, my sister in law helped me stain and distress the wood.
My kitchen has lots of fun displaying opportunities all over, so I get to display all of my favorite dishes and at least put them to one kind of use!



I had to give this area a little something so I took some wood glue and slapped this lovely on and with a little distressing it looks like it is an original piece. And isn't that the cutest dish towel EVER? It was a gift from my dear friend!!!



We are in the process of switching over to stainless steel, the only component left, the range. Maybe for Christmas!

the back of the island. I picked out some beadboard Brody cut it down to size and slapped it up with some woodglue and small nails. Painted distressed and walla! The stools were from Walmart, just regular wood color, I spray painted them, sanded a little and the fit just so nicely!



At first we didn't have this as a part of the island, but I felt it needed something more. I searched Lowes and when I saw this I new it would be perfect. It came white so I added my own paint color and stain. It just really brings out the island, it makes it look more expensive, which of course its not!!!




Its not quite ready but it is what it is! I we love it!
